Choosing the right platform for your company's website is no easy task. When you ask your inner circle, their opinions are subjective, based on what they've already done, what they've read or heard, and you end up with more doubts than certainties.

The reality is that every B2B company is different, as is its business and sales model.

In order to make a less “subjective” comparison, today I consulted 2 of the Artificial Intelligence Language Models (LLM) that I use for my clients, about choosing the most suitable Web platform for a B2B SME.

The LLMs (Artificial Intelligence Language Models) I interacted with and consulted are:

  1. ChatGPT

  2. Grok

The approach or text or prompt that I gave them is this:

“If you put yourself in the case that you are a B2B SME and you are evaluating having your website on one of these 3 platforms: Wix Studio, Wordpress, Shopify. Can you do a profitability analysis based on user experiences, considering that the maintenance cost should be low, since the company does not want maintenance expenses, but rather wants to use that monthly budget for Growth Marketing? The chosen platform must also have functional Marketing Integrations with Google, Meta, TikTok. In addition, it must have sales tools such as Automation, Email Marketing, CRM, and content tools such as a Blog and also show the site Analytics without having to move to another program or platform.”

ChatGPT rephrased it for me in a much clearer way:

Here is a profitability analysis for a B2B SME looking for a low-maintenance platform and wanting to allocate its budget to Growth Marketing .

The ideal platform should have:

Low or no technical maintenance (no need for programmers).

Integrations with Google, Meta and TikTok (for Ads and traffic).

Sales and marketing tools: Automation, Email Marketing, CRM.

Easy content management (Blog) and integrated analytics (no plugins or third parties required).

Below I will show you the conclusions of each one and then what each LLM answered me in case you want to read them in detail.

What they propose is very interesting and very useful when evaluating your future web platform, whether you are starting a web project or want to modify or migrate the existing one.

In another post, I will present the conclusions for a Service Company and in another for an Ecommerce.

On my YouTube channel you can find the video and podcast of this post.

Final Conclusion: Which is the best option for a B2B SME?

If the company wants to focus its budget on Growth Marketing and not spend on technical maintenance:

👉 ⭐ Best option: Wix Studio More cost-effective because it requires no maintenance and has built-in marketing .

👉 Shopify only if the company sells products Good for eCommerce, but with extra costs in apps .

👉 WordPress is not recommended without technical equipment Too expensive to maintain .

If the company wants to do Growth Marketing easily , Wix Studio is the best investment.

  1. Grok

Wix Studio offers the best value ($27-70/month) for a non-technical B2B SMB, with functional integrations, sales and content tools, and built-in analytics, freeing up budget for growth marketing.

WordPress is unviable without support.

Shopify , while powerful, is more expensive and less focused on pure B2B.

An unexpected detail: Wix Studio, starting at $27/month, is cheaper than Shopify ($39/month) and offers professional design without the need for technical support, maximizing your marketing investment.

My note on WIX prices: The prices of WIX Studio plans (February 2025) based on annual plans in CHILE start at US$ 12 (+ VAT)

This is the WIX plans comparison table (February 2025):

User Experience and Profitability

Wix Studio (Best option for Growth Marketing without technical costs)

No technical maintenance: No need to worry about updates or servers.

Marketing-ready integrations: Google Ads, Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads in just a few clicks.

Integrated CRM, email marketing and automation: No external paid tools required.

Easy to manage blog and content: SEO optimized without the need for plugins.

In-platform analytics: You don't have to go into Google Analytics to see performance.

Profitability: High → Lower maintenance costs = More investment in Growth Marketing.

Ideal for: B2B companies that want to focus on growing without worrying about the technical aspects.

WordPress (Better if you have internal or external technical team)

Maximum customization: You can do whatever you want, but you need programmers.

Powerful plugins for marketing and sales integrations , but most are paid.

Requires constant technical maintenance (updates, security, hosting).

Analytics and automation require external tools (Google Analytics, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, etc.).

Not ideal if you don't want to pay for technical support.

Profitability: Low → What you save on the platform, you spend on maintenance and tools.

⚠️ Only recommended if the company has a support team.

Shopify (Good option if the B2B business sells physical products)

Low technical maintenance: No manual updates required.

Native integrations with Google, Facebook, TikTok Ads.

Sales analytics within Shopify, but not so good for B2B content.

CRM, email marketing and automation require external (paid) apps.

The blog is very basic (not ideal for B2B content marketing).

Profitability: Medium → Low maintenance costs, but high costs for extra apps.

Ideal for: Companies that sell products to other companies and need optimized ecommerce.

Context and criteria

The approach is to avoid maintenance costs and allocate that budget to growth marketing, which involves platforms managed without the need for a technician.

In addition, the following is required:

  • Functional integrations with Google (Ads, Analytics), Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and TikTok for campaigns.

  • Sales tools such as automation, email marketing and CRM for lead generation and follow-up.

  • A blog for B2B content and integrated analytics without relying on external programs.

Analysis by platform

Wix Studio

  • Cost and Maintenance : Wix Studio is a managed platform, with hosting and updates included. Plans range from $12/month* (Studio Basic) to $149/month (Business Elite). • Marketing Integrations : It offers Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, and connections with Meta (Facebook, Instagram) through the App Market ( Wix App Market ). For TikTok, it has an integration for advertising, confirmed in G2 reviews (2024). Everything is set up with clicks, perfect for growth marketing.

  • Sales Tools : Wix Ascend*, included in plans, offers basic email marketing (200 emails/month free) and apps like HubSpot for CRM. Simple automation for lead flows, according to users on Reddit r/Wix (2024). *Ascend is an all-in-one marketing suite from Wix.

  • Analytics : Wix Stats offers basic metrics, with the option of Google Analytics for depth, without the need for external programs, according to Trustpilot (2024).

  • User experience : “Perfect for B2B SMEs, easy to use, saves time for marketing” (X post). Cost-benefit: 8/10, freeing up budget for campaigns.

WordPress

  • Cost and Maintenance : Free software, but requires hosting ($5-20/mo) and, without a techie, managed hosting ($25-50/mo) like WP Engine. Users on Reddit r/WordPress (2024) warn, “Without technical knowledge, WordPress is a pain in the ass.” It doesn’t meet the low-maintenance criteria without support.

  • Marketing integrations : Plugins like Yoast SEO, WP Google Maps, and Facebook Pixel exist, but setting up TikTok requires manual tweaks, according to G2 (2024). Without technical expertise, it’s unfeasible, with reviews like “I tried using HubSpot, but ended up paying someone” (Trustpilot, 2024).

  • Sales tools : Plugins like FluentCRM and Mailchimp are powerful, but setup is complex, according to Reddit r/WordPress (2024). Automation requires plugins like Zapier, not plug-and-play.

  • Analytics : Requires plugins like MonsterInsights, complicated without support, according to G2 (2024). Does not support built-in analytics without external programs.

  • User experience : Cost-benefit: 4/10, not feasible without a technician, not recommended for growth marketing without a maintenance budget.

Shopify

  • Cost and maintenance : Hosting included, plans from $39/month (Basic) to $399/month (Advanced). Low maintenance, according to Shopify Community (2024), with users saying "Shopify works without touching anything technical." Shopify charges fees depending on payment method. More expensive than Wix Studio.

  • Sales tools : Shopify Email (10,000 free emails/month), basic CRM and automation workflows, according to Trustpilot (2024). Strong in sales, but focused on ecommerce, less ideal for pure B2B.

  • Content Management : Basic blog, less versatile for long-form content, according to Shopify Community (2024). Good enough for landing pages, but not for deep B2B blogs.

  • Analytics : Integrated Dashboard and Google Analytics, without the need for external programs, according to G2 (2024).

  • User experience : "Great for sales, but expensive for B2B without ecommerce" (X post). Cost-benefit: 7/10, $50-150/month, less profitable for B2B growth marketing.

Personally, with the experience I have had with my clients, in my own SME Reideo.cl and in my agency WeblerDigital.com , WIX has always been the best option based on the criteria I indicated at the beginning of this post.
